Rotary Foundation and You!
Lisa Brough talked about how donating money to the Rotary Foundation is about bringing hope to people throughout the world. She said dreams do come true when you support the Foundation and their many global grants.
Rotary Moment
Dan Jaeger shared his Rotary Moment this morning. He talked about a project with the Santa Barbara club and about his experience at the Rotary International convention.
Shine a Light on You Award
Doug Feco presented this week's award to Stella Ortiz, Sophie Klepper and Jerry Shaffner for their work on the Thanksgiving Dinner last week.
Dr. P. reminded everyone that this year's Bike Project is planned for Wednesday, December 6 at Monte Vista at 6:00 p.m. (See flyer below for more information.)
Rotary Progressive Holiday Dinner Planned for December 9th
Stella Ortiz announced that we will be having a Holiday Progressive Dinner Saturday, December 9 . See the invitation below for more information.
Blood Drive Planned for December 14
Jim Robison reminded everyone to sign up to donated blood at the Blood Drive Thursday, December 14 . Sign up sheets are on the tables now.
2018 Cajun Tickets are Here
Larry Borovay announced that members can now pick up their tickets and for the next week can purchase additional tickets for $15 each. Ticket prices will go up to $20 after that time. Additional tickets purchased now are non-refundable. Sign up sheets are on the tables.
This morning members from the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce staff and board surprised Gary White by announcing that he has been chosen as the Simi Valley Strathearn Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient. The dinner will be Friday, January 26, 2018.

We had the pleasure of hearing from Wade Nomura -- past District Governor.
He talked about the 6 areas of focus:
1. Water and Sanitation
2. Community & Economic Development
3. Child and Maternal Health - Disease Prevention
4. Rotary Scholars - Ambassadorial Scholars
5. Vocational Training Team
6. Sister Districts
He also talked about the Rotary Foundation Cadre -- 614 members that help to review and evaluate Global Grants; Polio Plus; and District Grants.
He reminded us of the two ways to give:
1. Endowment Fund
2. Annual Fund
