President Doug Feco again asked those that wore their pins to stand up.  If you forgot to wear it he asked that you put a dollar in the box being passed around! The dollars raised will be matched by Doug and donated to our Charitable Foundation for scholarships.  

Doug shared information about a member, her family, her business, her career and her involvement with Rotary -- it was Michelle Foster!

 

Then Michelle talked about her Rotary Moment, which was when she and Craig attended the Rotary International Convention in Singapore.  While riding the bus to the convention center, Michelle noticed a woman, dressed in the style from her country, wearing the same Rotary pin.  It was then that she felt the full depth that Rotary has throughout the world and all the good that it is doing here and abroad.

Lisa Brough talked about how you get a Paul Harris Fellow: 1. Make a $1000 donation or 2. Set up a plan to donate $83.50/monthly, which equals $1000 at the end of 12 months.  If you donated $1000 each year you become a member of the Paul Harris Society.

Peter Cicciarri was our Rat Fink this morning and shared information about the Rotary Foundation -- like when it was started (1917) and who started it (Arch C. Klumph).

BJ Anderson announced that there will be a Rotary Information on Wednesday, August 9th a 7:00 p.m. at her house 4265 Avenida Simi.  Board members and chairs of events are encouraged to attend so that new members can get a great overview of all that our club does here in the city and internationally!

Mary Paseta introduced exchange student Clara Minet - she will be attending Royal High School.  We also said goodbye to our exchange student Angela Carrillo - she is returning to Belgium.
