Doug Feco had members that were Veterans to stand up and be thanked. He also thanked his Club Service members for all that they do including Bruce Bromberg, Peter Cicciari, Bill Fox, Cindy Jacoby, Bob Whalen, Jeff Whipp and Chas Wilson.
Shine a Light on You Award
Pam Perry received the Shine a Light On Your Award this morning for her work in the Halloween Bash.
Rotary Foundation and You!
Herschel Berger talked about the Rotary Foundation donations through Paul Harris Fellows and where they go -- polio, grants for countries, etc. He also said if you are a part of the $30/quarter program this also goes into the Rotary Foundation. Each member accumulates points throughout the year that can me used towards the purchase of a Paul Harris Fellow. Contact Herschel or Lisa Brough for more information.
Rat Fink
Harvey Mahler was Rat Fink this morning and he brought up Bob Whalen because he has chosen him twice this year to be Rat Fink. He then had members stand up and asked Bob if he knew their classifications.
Doug Feco brought up all the dentists in the club and had them stand in order of how long they have been in Rotary. That number ranged from 35 years to 45 days!
Sophie Klepper is arranging for a fence repair at the Free Clinic this Saturday, November 11 at 8 am. Please try to help out if you can.
Wine and Flowers -- Centerpieces for Thanksgiving Dinner and More
Pam Perry and Dr. P. are planning a Wine & Flowers night to make centerpieces for the Thanksgiving Dinner at the senior center. They are asking that you bring a bottle of wine (to drink that night!) plus $10 for supplies. You will be making one centerpiece for the dinner and one for your personal use. The night will be Tuesday, November 21 at Pam's house - 3436 Avenida Simi at 7:00 p.m. Sign up sheets are on the tables now.
Thanksgiving Dinner at Senior Center
Stella Ortiz announced sign up boards are now up at our meetings so you can volunteer for our Thanksgiving Dinner at the Senior Center planned for Wednesday, November 22. We have received a $3500 towards our Thanksgiving Dinner, from Stater Bros., plus we will have 64 turkeys and Green Acres and pies are all scheduled too! .
Bike Project In December
Dr. P. discussed this year's Bike Project planned for Wednesday, December 6 at Monte Vista at 6:00 p.m. (See flyer below for more information.) He is also looking for donations of $100 to purchase three bikes this year. Many members stood up and agreed but more are needed!
Blood Drive Planned for December
Jim Robison announced we will be having a Blood Drive Thursday, December 14 . Sign up sheets are on the tables now.
