President Deb Davila talked about World Polio Day on October 24th - a day when thousands of Rotary clubs around the world will hold events and fundraisers to recognize our progress in the global fight to end polio. The Polio Plus program, the first initiative to tackle global polio eradication through the mass vaccination of children, also has helped with the prevention against other diseases as well as clean water initiatives.
Car Show and Pancake Breakfast
Jake Finch reminded everyone to try and stop by the car show and pancake Breakfast at Stonebridge Community Church, 4832 Cochran Street, this Saturday, October 5 starting at 7 am. Funds raised to support widows and orphans from the Ventura County Fire Department.
Richard Perini said we grossed $4300 last weekend and that there are some fun things happening at the house this coming weekend.

Shoe Drive -- Start Saving and Collecting!
Megan Bemis talked about the 2-month shoe drive that is starting NOW! Ask your friends and family and if you can, solicit your co-workers. Put a box in the lunch room. We are collecting gently worn, used and new shoes.
Please bring them to the meetings on Thursdays, or you can drop it off at Megan's office - Visiting Angels, 1176 Road Runner Way, Suite B, Simi Valley.
