President Deb Davila talked about how the Month of March for the Rotary Foundation is March is Water and Sanitation month. Clean water is a basic human right that many are often denied.

There are 2.5 billion people in the world that lack access to improved sanitation and 748 million people that don’t have clean drinking water. Nearly 1400 children die each day from diseases caused by lack of sanitation and unsafe water. When people have access to clean water, they live healthier and more productive lives.

She shared a video and information on Rotary's clean water projects and initiatives.

Rotary Foundation Donation Support
Kailey Wagner talked about how in the past, we all donated $100 to the Rotary Foundation through the purchase of our Cajun tickets.

Donations to the Rotary Foundation are incredibly important as these funds will come back to us in three years in the form of district grants.

Last week she asked people to donate their $100 that was now not being spent on Cajun tickets back to the Rotary Foundation. She asked for EVERYONE if they could to Opt-In to this plan! She is happy to report that 22 people responded to her email!

If you would like to still Opt-In for $100 donation, or whatever amount they feel comfortable with, please email Kailey at kaileywagner5@gmail.com.

Click here to be taken to her email now!

Your donation will be billed.

Vocational Service Pathway Grant
John Baxter talked about the Vocational Service project of creating a grant process for high schools to request money for their Pathway programs.  He received two requests, one of which is wants to fund now.  The grant is from Simi Valley High School to purchase mannequins to use for learning about organs in classes. These hands-on mannequins cost $500 each and since there was $2000 in the budget we will be able to purchase 4 of them.  They had asked for $5000 to purchases them to help their 185 students utilize them all at the same time during their classes. He is asking for donations to purchase additional mannequins and you can email him to discuss a donation now!
