Past President Dan Jaeger filled in for Deb Davila who is recuperating from her surgery. He reminded us that being a club president is a big job and that there is much that goes on behind the scenes by a team of people. Let's be sure to thank her for all of her efforts on our behalf and hope that she heals well and quickly.
He could not pass up the opportunity to regale us with several thought provoking poems, one of which was entitled Pre-apocalyptic Blues.

Valentine's Party
Laura Berger spoke about the Valentine's Day gathering at her home on Saturday, February 15th. Please register online so that she will have an idea of how many people to expect. Oh, and be sure to bring your Valentine.
Jim Lowry spoke about our social last Thursday evening at the Junkyard. 31 club members and 17 guests attended. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and a great opportunity for members who are finding it difficult to join us at 7:00 in the morning.
Our next 5th Thursday Social will be on April 30th. Put it on your calendar now.
Annual Group 5 Mixer - March 5th
Dan Jaeger informed us that our annual Group 5 gathering will be on March 5th at the Wood Ranch Country Club. The featured speaker will be sports broadcaster Bob Miller.
Our club will not meet that morning.
Our Newest Paul Harris Fellow
Leigh Seaton presented Donovan Downey with his first PHF pin to recognize his service to our club and to the community. Donovan has been a staunch supporter of our Cajun festival, Thanksgiving Dinner and more. Thanks, Donovan. Well deserved!

Fred Bauermeister
Executive Director - Free Clinic of Simi Valley
Fred Bauermeister updated us on the recent developments at the Free Clinic. He spoke about the partnerships between the Clinic and several organizations including Rotary. He shared the vision for the new Multi-Service Center that will be opening its doors later this year. They are currently looking to raise an additional $400K in order to complete the project.
He appealed to Rotarians to help move the clinic into the new building in May of this year.
Furthermore, our own Bill Klepper will be helping the Clinic raise funds selling bricks that will be located in a small plaza at the new building.
