Our Peace Building Committee had the honor and pleasure of awarding the 2019 Susan Marie Smith Peace Builder Award to Paige Barrella, a junior from Santa Susana High School. Your will have the opportunity to meet her at our club meeting on May 16
We had the pleasure of inducting a new member --Martha Macker. Martha works with Sunrise Assistant Living.
President Mike McCaffrey shared letters from RYLA participants. He also said that BJ Anderson is having back surgery and to keep her on our prayers.

Sophie Klepper invited everyone the rocks everyone will be able to take one or two home with them to hide somewhere in the community. You can take a picture and post hints on where to find it. She promises that it is fun and you will all love seeing all the amazing artwork that our community is making.

Gator Run
Bill Klepper talked about the upcoming Gator Run on Sunday, May 19th and how volunteers are needed and how help is also needed to put up signs in the community. Sign up sheets are on the tables now.
Need More Softball Sign Ups
Jarrod DeGonia said we still need men and women to sign up to be able to field a team for the Rotary Softball tournament on Saturday, May 11th.
Many have had an interest in practicing or going as a group to the batting cage. The softball fields at Lemon Park (Veterans Plaza Park) are open the afternoon of May 4. He will be hosting a light practice for those playing or just wanting to see if there is life in your legs, arms, and bats! Please let him know if you are interested in a practice Saturday, May 4 at 1:30 pm. Also let him know ASAP if you want to have a roster spot. His email is: DeGonia@bos.lacounty.gov

Portfolio Day Planned at
John Baxter talked about the Portfolio Day at Valley View Middle School and said he doesn't need anymore volunteers!
Older Americans Month Celebration
Leigh Seaton talked about Older Americans Month Celebration at the Simi Valley Senior Center on Wednesday, May 15th from 10 am to 1 pm. Volunteers are need to help decorate, serve food and mingle with seniors and sign up sheets are on the tables now.
