President Bill highlighted:
1. There is a committee made up of John BagnallTim Gray, and Leigh Seaton - who are researching and talking to members about the feasibility of presenting our Cajun Festival next year in a different format.  If you have an opinion, please email them by clicking on their name above.

2. Thanksgiving Senior Dinner: We will be holding the dinner this year, just not sure of how it will be offered - in-person, drive-up, etc.  They are meeting with Angel today to talk.

3. He asked members to please try to reduce the political tension on social media.  He wants to focus on our club's good works and upcoming events.
Simi Valley Police Deputy Chief Bob Brill thanked the club for our support of the department during these tough times.

We had the following guests this week:

Leo Abuzaid and Chelsea Martens
Bob Brill
=====================
We had the pleasure of hearing from Curt Osteroudt about the history of Corriganville. He talked about the movies that had been filmed in that area over the years and the history of the ranch.

The name Corriganville originated because an actor, by the name of Ray Bernard, purchased the land in 1937.  He was known as "Crash Corrigan" so he named it after himself! He expanded the property in 1949, opened it to the public and started presenting rodeos on the property as well as stunt shows.  He was forced to sell after a divorce to a group associated with Bob Hope, which renamed it Hopetown.  They had hoped to expand it and make it more of an amusement area but in the end parcels were sold off and the park district came to own part of it and renamed it Corriganville.
