Bill Klepper presented Chas Wilson with a check for $400 for the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise Charitable Foundation. This money was collected from donations from our members to honor Phyllis Barbee.
Bill Fox shared that since it was Flag Day recently he wanted to question our knowledge on all things flag-related.
Kathy Scroggin talked about the upcoming 2021-2022 meeting location. Right now a location has not been locked down but as soon as it is you will all know!
Leigh Seaton thanked everyone that came out last Saturday to put in smoke alarms at the mobile home park. He said the residents were all so happy and appreciative.
Savi Bhim once again shared the need for donations to help in India. She talked about how the Covid-19 virus has spread to the rural areas and how that is now compounded by black fungus disease. She is asking once again for members to help out by making a donation. The Rotary Clubs in India are delivering $30 bags of groceries to the families there and they need all the help they can get. Arun Sharma had the pleasure of bring two guests from the Hanging Gardens of Bombay Rotary Club to our club this morning - Deepak and Bella Zaveri. They shared information about their club's projects and presented Bill with their club's flag. Bill gave them each Happy Face hats!

Carolyn Boucher shared that the Team Ginny flyer now as a QR Code so that when people see the flyer they can be taken to the site with all the information. The group will once again be meeting this Saturday, June 19th at 9 AM at The Junkyard to gather and then go out to businesses asking them to put the flyer up in their windows.
Today we had the pleasure of having members from the Simi Valley Police Department come and speak about catalytic Converter thefts. Since January 209 have been stolen in Simi.
They shared that a free service is being offered at auto body repair shops where they will engrave your license plate number into the converter so that if it is ever recovered, they will know that it was stolen. They are working in conjunction with other cities in Southern California.

Mike Kort, from the Sunset Club, announced the upcoming Hopetown Reunion on June 27th. This is the event that Mayor Mashburn referred to when he spoke to us several weeks ago. Mike's Club is sponsoring the event and he's looking for volunteers to help out. Let him know if you're interested.
