Ms. Demi Fox
Demi Fox, yes DEMI Fox, was back leading us in our stretching to start the meeting.  Some think that she uses the stretching as a crowd control technique.  If so, it works.  Thanks for setting a good example Demi!
Josh Alexander lead us in the invocation this morning.
John Bagnall lead us in the flag salute.
Corey Baker welcomed the Guests and there were quite a few.
President Bill started with The Big Event tomorrow, Friday the 2nd. Queen Nation performing in Simi's first outdoor concert.  This is a big deal and, if successful, can lead to more concerts and turn into a major source of revenue for the Club.
Bill then relayed a story where he was eating dinner in Las Vegas and met Joe Cortez, the boxing referee.  When Joe found out Bill was from Simi he asked Bill if he knew a Jackie Richardson.  Bill looked into it and thought Jackie would be a great speaker for our Club and invited her to come and talk to us.
Jackie helped establish the Retired Boxers Foundation, an idea started by Alex Ramos.  Alex is a former amateur and professional fighter.  He was very good having won 189 fights (132 by KO) with only 9 losses.  Jackie, whose specialty was community service work focusing on at-risk youth, met Alex at the opening of a gym for kids made possible by a grant proposal written by Jackie.  Alex had fallen on hard times, like a lot of other fighters, and had an idea to create a foundation for retired boxers who needed help.  That idea became the Retired Boxers Foundation which was established in 1998.  The Retired Boxers Foundation is entirely volunteer run, includes a Medical Advisory Board, and assists retired professional boxers in identifying and accessing rehabilitation services, housing, financial and job training services, and more.  Jackie shared stories of working with the likes of Ken Norton, Joe Frazier and Mike Tyson, all of whom had fallen on hard times.
Bill ended the meeting by letting us know that JoJo Siwa will be making a surprise appearance at the Queen Nation concert tomorrow.  Apparently she's friends with the band.  Spread the word as it should help sell tickets.
Ms. Jackie Richardson
Our next meeting will be April 8th, 2021.  It will be IN PERSON at the JUNKYARD.
Please remember to bring a friend or an acquaintance to our next meeting.  This is a GREAT way to grow our membership!  And the guest's lunch is taken care of.

Team Ginny Update
Spread the message!
Dorina Timbol and Carolyn Boucher came up to talk about the Team Ginny effort.
Dorina started by thanking Rocky and Tony for the great example they both set during Tony's tribulations.  We were also reminded that once a donor is found, it can take several months to get everything in place for the procedure.  Time is of the essence.  She also said that there would be a table at the concert tomorrow with Team Ginny flyers and masks to hand out.  Lastly, she announced a Team Ginny Search Party next Tuesday at the Junkyard at 5:30 PM.  See Dorina for details.
Carolyn talked about the Team Ginny flyer challenge Dorina threw at us last week.  We all got two copies of the Team Ginny flyer and Dorina wanted one of those copies posted at your business and the other copy posted at your business friend's business.  Then Dorina wanted pictures of both postings sent to her so they can be shared.  Carolyn has only received two photos so far.  These photos, Carolyn said, are another way to shine a light on Ginny.  And it doesn't hurt that your business gets some free advertising as well.
If you need to learn how to Share on social media, please reach out to Team Ginny and they will be glad to help.

OK, last report from Larry and Ryan.  Ticket sales are still moving and they are hoping that word of JoJo Siwa being at the concert will help drive it to a sell out.  All sales in the black!
Remember that we each need to sell two tickets.  See below for a link to ticket sales.
There will be an opening act at 5:00 PM and then Queen Nation comes out at 6:00 PM.  They will play until about 7:30 PM.
Larry and Ryan said that they are almost full with volunteers but more parking help might still be needed by Deb Davila.  Check with Ryan or Deb to see if any more help is needed.
There will be two food vendor trucks along with some Porta Pottys.  Geovanny's Our Daily Bread will be there but to ensure you get what you want, Geovanny suggested you should send in a pre-order.
Gates open at 4:00PM so volunteers should not arrive any later than 3:30.  There's talk of one of Dr. P's debriefs at the Junkyard after the show.  Studies have shown that debriefs are very important to the success of subsequent events.  See Steve for details....Cheers!

Leigh reminded us that there is an upcoming Blood Drive on April 15th.  He has six appointments booked so far and needs 10 more.  Please contact Leigh to arrange an appointment time.
The house cleanup at 1493 Sorrel Street is back on.  The owner, if you recall, is an elderly lady with no family or support.  This is what Rotary is all about.  It is set for Tuesday April 13th at 8:00 AM.  Leigh said it shouldn't take more than 2-3 hours.  Bring gloves and a strong back.
The Happy Face Hill makeover scheduled for Saturday, April 17 is
ON HOLD!!!!!
The date for the Smoke Alarm Installations, Saturday, May 1, is TENTATIVE at this point.  Still waiting on a green light.  Stay tuned.
Dr. P's Full Moon Hike up Mt. McCoy to the Cross on Palm Sunday got rave reviews.  These reviews, it should be noted, were received after the refreshments were consumed.
A shot Steve took on the hike.  Stunning!
Following is an email Kathy Scroggin sent out reminding us about the District Training Assembly (Virtual) 2021 coming up April 17th:
Good evening,
I hope this finds you all safe and well.
In a previous email I referenced the District Training Assembly that will be held virtually on April 17.
Included here is registration information.  Please register for the general session and for the session specific to the position you will hold.
If you are filling a role for which there is no specific session, the general session will be beneficial and hopefully inspirational as we look forward to the new Rotary year.  Our goal is to have as many of our Club members as possible in attendance for at least the general session.
There are some sessions later on in the day that might also interest some of you.  Please register for those too as they may be helpful in assisting us in planning for the coming year.
Since March 2020 our lives both personally and professionally have been anything but normal.  Let’s come together now as Rotarians to continue our commitment to Service Above Self as we move forward together to make a difference in the world and in our community.
Join us in doing just that by registering today for the District Training Assembly! I look forward to continuing my conversations with each of you over the coming weeks.
Yours in Rotary,
