Why I'm in Rotary:
My Rotary experience was unique. I was inducted into the Rotary Club of Simi Valley and was the first woman Rotarian in Simi Valley and District 5240 brought in by Bob Huber who was my sponsor. That was in June of 1988. It was not without controversy. The US Supreme Court had ruled in May 1987 that women should be allowed in Rotary. Later, because of work constraints, I came into Simi Sunrise and was President in 2004-05. A great experience and our Club was recognized as best in the District.
What people don't know about me:
I love to Sea Doo and love the desert.
I serve as a Board Member for the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District, serve on the State Legislative Committee for special districts and serve as chair for the Ventura County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo).
Rotary has added such a positive to my life and there are no regrets for being a pioneer for women in Rotary. As a 86er, my participation has waned but my heart is still with the club and all the good that is accomplished.
There have been 3 cases in 2017 of Polio due to the wild polio virus. The most recent case of Polio was January 27th in Pakistan. Click on the link below for more information.
