PROGRAM
For the Troops
Paula Cornell
We had the pleasure of hearing from Paula Cornell and her organization For the Troops.
For The Troops is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to providing members of the American military with “We Care” packages containing basic necessities, goodies, games and—most of all—a show of support.
Since its inception in 2005, For The Troops has substantially grown in volunteers and donors, and has distributed more than 177,000 packages year-round to American troops who risk their lives overseas every day—far away from the comforts of home.
Their cost is about $24,000 per month on postage and $10,000 per month on items for each package - they mail 1800 packages each month.
She also read letters from servicemen who have received their packages and said they are always looking for more volunteers!

Medal of Valor Awards Ceremony
October 7, 2017 | Air Force One Pavilion at the Reagan Library
The Medal of Valor is awarded to officers for extraordinary bravery, above and beyond the call of duty, where risk of life actually existed and the officer was aware of such risk; where failure to take such action would not justify censure. Honorees and guests will enjoy a catered dinner and a tour of the library.
For tickets contact Randy Watkins at (805) 794-1570, Shawn Holzberger at (805) 279-0490, or Jeremy Paris at (805) 797-7105.
