Chas Wilson talked about and shared photos from his recent trip to Uganda where he delivered checks for a micro-finance grant from Rotary.
Simi Sunrise Rotary Charitable Foundation has 5 New Fellows!
Lisa Brough was given her certificate for becoming a Simi Sunrise Rotary Charitable Foundation Fellow a few months ago. This morning, Mike Mutal asked for five more members to become Fellows to help fund our scholarship program. Tim Gray, Don Schadt, Leigh Seaton, Jim Stutzman and Jim Visage all volunteered!
Books Going North
Jake Finch shared information about how she, and a few of our members, helped arrange for SVUSD books that are not longer being used to be delivered to a Santa Rosa school district. The libraries in this district were destroyed in the recent fires.
Lee Dominic and Demi Fox shared more details on the upcoming Voo Doo on the Bayou Haunted House planned for October. He said this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 9 am - 5 pm - he would like volunteers to help build the project. Also, they need someone who knows how to build a bridge! (See below for more information on the event and supplies needed to build.)
Smoke Detector Installation In October
Leigh Seaton talked about a new location for our club to participate in Smoke Detector Installations. Planned for Saturday, October 20 at the Tradewinds Mobilehome Park - 5150 E Los Angeles Ave. More information to come soon.

Adam "Stripes" Bell
Adam "Stripes" Bell was our guest speaker this morning. He talked about the R.M. Pyles Boys Camp that was founded in 1949 as a prevention-based youth leadership and character development program for economically disadvantaged boys. He highlighted the typical 12-day session and what the program entails.
