President Mike McCaffrey talked about another water project that was completed with the help of a Ojai Rotary Club. March is Water and Sanitation Month within Rotary. Clean water and sanitation is a human right. When people, especially children, have access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene, they lead healthier and more successful lives. Brian Gabler
Interim City Manager
We had the pleasure of hearing from Simi Valley's Interim City Manager Brian Gabler. He talked about recent developments, like what is happening now with the Farmer's building on Cochran, as well as the new industrial complexes that are being built or will be built in the next few years.
The problem he said is that in all of Ventura County there isn't enough workforce housing. Older people aren't selling their houses and moving so there is very limited housing for the workforce. On top of that, when California ended it's redevelopment incentives for cities through the state, builders are no longer interested in building low-cost housing and cities aren't either without the additional resources.
