President Deb Davila talked about how Rotary and the United Nations have a shared history of working toward s peace and addressing humanitarian issues around the world. Rotary Day is celebrated at the United Nations every year and this year it is on November 9th. Rotary will also be hosting five special events throughout the world next year culminating at the Rotary International Convention in Honolulu, HI.
Diego Valazquez, from the Conejo Valley Rotary Club, presented a check for $500 from his club for our Venezuela project of providing filters for dialysis machines. Cesar Zambrano shared information about the project, which our club donated $3,000 towards, and Stella Ortiz read a letter of thanks for the Camino de Santiago Rotary Club.
Diego Valazquez talked about a very important wheelchair project from his Conejo Valley Rotary Club. He shared a video and included on each table handouts about how we all can participate in this program. For as little as $75 you can help purchase one wheelchair.

Bring Your Shoes!
President Deb reminded us that the shoe drive is under way and will continue through the beginning of December. Leigh Seaton also said he reached out to Avenel Hitchcock and she generously donated Rob's shoes.
Ask your friends and family and if you can, solicit your co-workers. Put a box in the lunch room. We are collecting gently worn, used and new shoes.

Haunted House Needs Actors!
Richard Perini said that we had a large attendance last weekend but volunteers and actors too! Due to the fire we have expanded the last day to Friday, November 1.
Rotary Beer Crawl - Sunday, November 10
Dr. P. talked about the upcoming Beer Crawl that will now take place on Sunday, November 10 at 12:30 p.m. Four breweries will be included: Enegran, Tarantual Hill, 14 Canyons and 5 Threads.
Holiday Bike Assembly Planned for Thursday, December 5th
Dr. P. announced that this year's Holiday Bike Assembly night will be on Thursday, December 5 at Monte Vista.
