Bill talked aout the barbeque thank you lunch that we provided for the Rancho Simi Recreation Pard District employees on Friday, March 5th. Many hands made for a wonderful meal and opportunity for our partners at RSRPD. Thanks went out to Mission Burrito, Geovanny (Our Daily Bread), Leigh Seaton, Y's Men and members of Simi Sunset Rotary. Well done, all!
Bill also read a letter from Jackie Chicagus, the 92 year old widow who we helped out in October last year. She thanked us for the tree removal project that we did led by Leigh Seaton. It was a terrific letter.
We don't do what we do for the thanks that we might receive. But it is sure nice when we get it.
Linus Kojelis joined us again this morning. And yes, this picture was taken at the JunkYard.
Jennifer Swenson logged in to give us a COVID update. Lots of positive news as cases are down and vaccinations are up. She reported on the vaccination clinic that was held to benefit employees of the Simi Valley Unified School District and Moorpark as well. They were able to give 2400 first shots in total!
Jennifer also stressed the value of partnerships which were key to making this all happen.
Dorina Timbol seized on the opportunity to invite Jennifer to our next meeting and learn more about Simi Sunrise Rotary. Jennifer was very receptive.

City Auto Body
Rags to Riches story
John Baxter interviewed our very own Gary White, owner of City Auto Body which started 40 years ago with 3 employees. Today it has 28 employees and processes close to 200 vehicles per month. They now handle motor homes as well.
We learned about expansion through acquisition. Ironically, the earthquake in 1994 was a "breakout year" for City Auto Body and the industry in general. After that, there was no stopping Gary and his team.
John thanked Gary for the many pallets of water that have been donated throughout the community.
Our next meeting will be March 18th, 2021. It will be IN PERSON at the JUNKYARD and NOT on Zoom.

Please remember to bring a friend or an acquaintance to our next meeting, even if the meeting is by Zoom.

Team Ginny Update
Spread the message!
Dorina stressed that the key to finding a successful donor for Ginny is getting the word out.
If you need to learn how to Share on social media, please reach out to Team Ginny and they will be glad to help.
Please remember that The Samaritan Center is still in need of chaperones on Wednesday nights. This effort allows those without a roof over their head to have a safe and warm place to spend the night. The hours needed on Wednesday night are from 7 PM to 7 AM the next morning on Thursday.
Please see John Tolson if you can help out.
Tickets continue to sell quickly. Remember that we each need to sell two tickets. See below for a link to ticket sales.
The date is set for April 2nd so please consider helping out. An email will be going out soon regarding volunteer assignments. And a volunteer meeting is scheduled for the evening of March 16th and 30th. Look for the email.
There will be an opening act at 5:00 PM and then Queen Nation comes out at 6:00 PM. They will play until about 7:30 or 8:00 PM. A Sign Up Sheet will be coming out soon. Please keep an eye out for it and consider helping per the hours noted above.
Leigh reminded us that there is an upcoming Blood Drive on April 15th. Please contact Leigh to arrange an appointment time.
We will be cleaning up the yard of a local elderly woman on Saturday, March 27th. Work will start at 8:00 AM and estimate 3-4 hours of work will be required. Please let Leigh Seaton know if you can help. Also, there's a rumor going around that Josh will be there with some Chic-fil-A goodies.
Also, mark your calendars for a Happy Face Hill makeover on April 17th and smoke alarm installations on May 1st.
