We had the honor and pleasure of introducing the 2019 Susan Marie Smith Peace Builder Award recipient Paige Barrella to our club this morning. Her parents Scott and Kris were also on hand along with the Peace Builder committee members.
Leigh Seaton on his 6th Paul Harris Fellow and Jocko Arledge on his 2nd one!
Tim Gray surprised his wife Kim with a Paul Harris Fellow this morning and made her cry with joy as he told us about the changes and sacrifices she has made this past year professionally and personally!
Paul Harris $30/Quarter Program
Lisa Brough talked about the Rotary Foundation and how everyone can donate through the club's $30/quarter program. When the account reaches $1,000 a name is drawn from those that participate, to receive a Paul Harris Fellow. This morning Dan Gesell's name was chosen! Congrats Dan.

Cajun Chair Updates
Stella Ortiz talked about the Simi Valley City Council presenting our club with a certificate this past Monday.
She also reminded us that on Friday, Mary 24th Rotarians and their family are invited to our Kick-off at the Cajun site at 6:00 p.m. The Y's Men from our YMCA will be making their tri-tip sandwiches for us!

Deb Davila announced that we are nearly at $99,000 in cash donations still coming in and is hoping to reach the $100,000 goal!

We had the pleasure of having past Simi Sunrise Rotarian Jim Lewis come and speak to our club about Polio - past, present and future. He also shared what is being done on the PLUS side for those individuals who survived but need help for their future. Our District 5240 has started it's own Polio Plus Society that members can join for $100.
