A New Year with Tim Gray
Today was the first club meeting under the new president, Tim Gray! Tim spoke about the themes for this year and gave a few updates to look forward to. The three areas our club will emphasize this year are food insecurity, healthcare, and homelessness. Each month will have one theme centered on one of the Rotary areas of focuses, including the program speakers and a monthly allocation (instead of yearly). July's area of focus is Maternal and Child Health Month.
Tim also spoke on collaborating more with neighboring Rotary Clubs, including the first project for this year: giving Camp Rotary in Corriganville some TLC. Several presidents from neighboring Rotary clubs were guests at this meeting!
Tim also intends to lean into more social events, saying “Rotary moments don't always happen in meetings, they happen doing things together.”

Rotarian of the Month
Dwight Thompson is the year's first Rotarian of the Month! Thank you Dwight for all the work you did during Arun's year as Club Service Chair. Dwight also recently received his third Paul Harris Fellow Award!
District Awards
Rotary of Simi Sunrise received several awards at the district awards ceremony last month. Our club received awards in these areas:
