We had the pleasure of hearing from four RYLA participants and how much they learned and about their favorite activities throughout the weekend. Our club provided 10 scholarships @ $375 each. Pictured are: Clara Minet, Gracie Littleton, Lily Gray,

John Baxter presented Russ Martin, the Simi Valley High School Auto Shop teacher, with an IOU for $500 from our Vocational Committee to help continue the improvements at the shop at the school. Russ is credited with bringing back this class to the school, through grants and donations, after more than 8 years of not being a part of the classes offered to students.
Jim Visage then raised his hand and offered to donate $1000 more to the program at the school!
Rotary Moment
Deb Davila shared her Rotary moment, which was just after she joined the club and had the opportunity to participate in the Shopping Spree for Kids over the holidays.
Shine a Light on You
Bruce Bromberg was given this award this morning for always being the smiling face that greets us each week!
And The Winner Is...
Cindy Belmonte had the pleasure to announce that Don and Kristy Schadt were the winners of a drawing for a trip to London at the recently held District conference!

Senior Lunch on May 16th
Bill Klepper talked about the Senior Lunch planned for Wednesday, May 16. Volunteers are needed from 10 - 1 pm. - but mostly to help serve!
Cajun Banners....Sell More!
Karen Thompson is asking that everyone in the club purchase at least one banner! Of course, going out and getting more banners is also a great idea!
Cajun Tickets for $20 Next Week
Larry Borovay reminded everyone that next week you will be able to purchase Cajun tickets for $20! He also said take a yard sign and a magnet for your car to promote our event wherever you go!
Nancy Hawthorne also reminded us that when we come to the festival go in the main entrance -- don't try and enter through the vendor gate!

Last Cajun Safety Meeting
Jim Tokatlian announced there will be one more Cajun Safety meeting on Friday, May 18 at the Simi Valley Police Department at 6:00 p.m.
Purchase a Cookbook
Clara Minet, our club's Rotary Exchange Student, is selling a cookbook for $15 with great recipes from all the exchange students this year. This will help her fund a trip across the US before she heads home in the summer.
