Deb Davila highlighted those members that had 100% and 90% attendance each week at our meetings. She said that by attending committee meeting or participating in events, this all counts towards attendance! So remember to write it down when you come back to our Thursday meetings!
Members from the Simi Valley Cultural Arts Foundation were on hand to surprise Mary Paseta this morning as they announced that Pegasus Transit will be receiving the first-time award of Pillar of the Arts Corporation. This award, along with other community awards, will be given at their Spotlight dinner on March 11th.
Cajun Updates
Stella Ortiz announced the first ALL HANDS meeting planned for March 12th at 6:00 p.m. at Monte Vista.
Bill Klepper announced that next week will be our Cajun Kick Off meeting and is encouraging everyone to wear their Cajun attire.
Family of Rotary Food Tour Planned for April
Laura Berger said that today was the last day to sign up for the Food Tour of Downtown LA, planned for Saturday, April 27th at noon. Cost is $80/pp.
Mike McCaffrey presented Tim Gray with a thank you from District Governor Sandi Schwartz for stepping up to house Peace Scholar Matthieu Grandpierron that was coming from France for two weeks when his original housing fell through!
District 5240 Baseball Game Sign Ups
Leigh Seaton said sign up sheets are now on the tables for the Dodgers versus Giants District 5240 Baseball game planned for Thursday, June 20th. Cost is $75/pp Please see the flyer below for more information.
Kiwanis Roundup Needs Volunteers
Phil Englander from the Simi Valley Kiwanis club is asking for volunteers to sign up for a 4 hour shift at their upcoming Roundup, planned for Saturday, March 30th at Hummingbird Nest. Please reach out to him to volunteer at: phil@philsmyagent.com.
Rotary Scholarship Update
Kathy Scroggin talked about the new Universal Scholarship Application that the SVUSD will be using this year. Most non-profits will be utilizing this new format. Students can us the link below to sign up for scholarships now.
Rob Hitchcock announced a meeting for this committee this morning after our meeting.
Simi Sunrise Charitable Foundation.card are now being sold! The new cards are being sold for 10 for $100 or $10/piece. Remember, they can be used for all occasions -- birthdays, condolences, get well and more!

Dr. Jason Peplinski
Superintendent SVUSD
Dr. Peplinski gave an overview of the district's 22 schools, which employs 2400 individuals, making it the largest employer in Ventura County.
There are 16,500 students and 700 teachers in the district and Dr. Peplinski highlighted the following:

--Medical/Health Science and Engineering

--International Studies and Leadership

3. Awards the schools receive each year including California Gold Ribbon School and National Blue Ribbon School.
