Tim Shannon talked about the Parliamentary procedure of how our club elects President-Elects.
MESSAGE FROM TIM:
During today’s meeting we had several nominations from the floor for President Elect Nominee, which will be voted on at our annual meeting December 6, 2018. We are in the process of contacting those nominated to be sure they accept prior to making up a ballot for use at the annual meeting and will distribute a final list when completed. President of the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise is a three-year commitment and in the spirit of providing information you the members will use to vote; the following are some expectations:
President Elect:
Initial one day District training (location to be chosen by District Governor of that year) PETS,
A three-day two-night training course in Los Angeles Second one day District training (location to be chosen by District Governor of that year)
Attend District Conference Attend District Assembly Attend International Conference Select a board of directors, to be announced at the club’s annual meeting in December Serve as club Membership Chair
Attend monthly board meetings Coordinate and conduct new member orientation meetings.

The Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce came by our club this morning to surprise two recipients of their 2018-2019 Salute to Excellence this year. Pat Montoya was chosen to receive the Non-Profit of the Year Award and the Junkyard, Tony and Evelyn Falato, are recipients of the Business of the Year Award
Halloween Clean Up this Sunday
Lee Dominick is asking for people to come and clean up the Macy's this Sunday, November 18 - 10 am - 2 pm. Bring a vacuum and a mop!
Thanksgiving Dinner at the Senior Center - Wednesday, November 21
Stella Ortiz talked this year's Thanksgiving Dinner at the Senior Center on Wednesday, November 21. The day before, Tuesday, November 20, at 6:00 p.m. at her house - 53 Humboldt Street, we will be making centerpieces with Dr. P. for the tables. For $10 you can make two and bring one home and have some wine and cheese too!!

Children's Shopping Spree - Saturday December 1 @ 8 am
Karen Thompson reminded us that we will be having our annual Target Shopping Spree for Children on Saturday, December 1 at 8 am at the Target on Madera and Tierra Rejada. Sign ups on on the tables now - Spanish speakers needed too!
Holiday Bike Assembly Event Planned for Thursday, December 6
Dr. P. said to mark your calendars now to participate in the Holiday Bike Assembly event at Monte Vista on Thursday, December 6.
Dr. P. said he will be holding a Full Moon Hike at Corriganville Saturday, November 17.
