Highlights of Today's Meeting
President Mike McCaffrey talked about how much our club has been doing over the past 10 weeks.  This included our Halloween Haunted House; Clean Up day; fire alarm installations; Thanksgiving Dinner for our Seniors; Target Shopping Day for children; Holiday Bike Building; and giving blood!  We've been a very active and busy club!
The club had the opportunity to thank some of our staff this morning for all the hard work and dedication they have at our weekly meetings!
Rat Fink
Bill Fox was our monthly Rat Fink and he asked questions about Hanukkah and Christmas.
Rose Parade Float Building Opportunity
Deb Davila said that if you’re interested in helping build the Rotary Rose Parade float, there is a trip organized by Walt Stephens, the Rotary Rose Parade Float Committee chair out of Santa Barbara. On Saturday December 22, there is a bus leaving Santa Barbara that will that will pick up anyone interested in Simi Valley around 6:30 – 7:00 am.  There are 5 spots open.  The cost of the trip is $35.00 which covers champagne brunch on the way down, lunch at the event, and beer, wine, and snacks for the trip home.  The bus would be back in Simi about 6 pm. If you’re interested, please contact:
Walt Stephens, 2019 Rose Parade Float Committee Chair, (805) 455-6938 (cell) or (805) 962-2828 (office)
Wear Your Ugly Sweaters on December 20th!
Don't forget to wear your ugly sweater on NEXT THURSDAY -- prizes will be awarded!
Helping Others During the Holidays
Deb Davila talked about a family in need. Amanda is a single mom of 2 teenage boys and they lost everything in the Woolsey Fire as it rushed through the Seminole Springs Mobile Home Park.  They have secured an apartment and still need a lot of things.  If you can help in any way, let Deb Davila know. (818) 519-1335 or deb.davila59@gmail.com.
They need:  a couple of dressers, kitchen items, and a computer for Amanda and one of her sons.  Since their needs are changing daily,  Bed Bath & Beyond or Target gift cards would be great for the household items, and Visa or Apple Store gift cards would be great to go towards their computer needs.
Sophie Klepper is also collecting money for a family whose mom is suffering from incurable brain cancer.  Please contact her to see how you can help contact Sophie.Klepper20@gmail.com.
Dorina Timbol has said that Women of Substance & Men of Honor are in need of toothpaste, body wash and candy to fill Christmas bags that they give to the at-risk youth.  Time is of the essence.  If you have these items please drop them off at Lighthouse Church, 3353 Old Conejo Road, Newbury Park.
